Soccer time

So, I joined a soccer league and I am definitely not feeling as athletic and flexible as I use to. A friend from high school contacted me and was excited to try and get me on her team. I went to see what it was all about. It was only suppose to be a practice but they ended up putting together a last minute scrimmage. The last time I played soccer was high school! It did not go how I had envisioned it. I never realized just how out of shape I am. At first, I was doing alright. Then, the nausea started to kick in, followed by the light handedness. Before I knew it, I could barely breathe. Hahaha! It must have been quite the sight! I didn't say anything though. First impressions are everything. I'm definitely paying for it now. Every muscle in my body aches. LOL! I use to laugh at people like me when I was younger. (Sorry mom and dad, now I know how you felt). Philipe and Brianna had a blast. I can't even begin to describe what it looked like on the side line. Philipe would yell for me to "run up there" or "hurry up and get back", etc. Brianna, trying to be like her Daddy, would let out a growl and yell too! It was pretty intense. OH! The best part is, I'm the only white girl, which doesn't bother me at all. Hispanics are very good soccer players but I don't speak Spanish and not a whole lot of them speak English. My friend has to translate everything between me and the coach. It's too funny! I just might come out of this whole experience learning a little bit of Spanish.

Philipe, Brianna and I went out the next day to get all my gear. I never should have gotten rid of all my stuff before but I was almost sure my soccer days were over. I give a whole new meaning to "soccer mom". Of coarse, we had to get Brianna her first soccer ball!

Well, I have another game tomorrow at 9 a.m. I'm hoping Brianna Sleeps good for me tonight. Philipe's working so I'm on my own. Wish me good luck! G'Night!

Bubbles...

Today Philipe took Brianna outside so I could tidy up a bit. As I was cleaning, I saw Brianna sitting on her Daddy's lap while he blew bubbles in the back yard. After getting a little choked up about how I am the luckiest woman in the whole world, I ran to get my camera.

I just want to take one second to brag about what a wonderful husband I have. He is the most amazing man I know. He is the best father (tied with my dad!) and Brianna is one very lucky little girl to have him as HER daddy! I don't know how I got so lucky! He's a real catch! Brianna has become quite the little "Daddy's Girl" lately. She always wanted me. I don't know what happen! I guess she's just growing up...(tear). Sometimes she'll cry and I go to pick her up and she'll scream until her daddy comes and takes her. As soon as he takes her she smile! Then I'll take her back and she screams again. Breaks my heart!!! Philipe has always been a wonderful father but in the beginning, there wasn't much he could do, as I was the one to feed her and she wanted me for all her comforting. He would never complain though. Sometimes, he would watch me nurse Brianna and tell me how lucky I was to be able to do that. Well, those days of relying solely on me are over and now Brianna is crazy about her daddy. And let me tell ya, he just eats it up! He's tickled over it! At least I have one thing she wants and needs from only me...my boobs! Ha! Any who...I just figured I'd pay a tribute to my hubby. He deserves it. Here's some of the pics I got. Glad I could share a moment that tugged on my heart strings with you.

I think Brianna was more interested in watching Bruizer jump to catch the bubbles.

Yup, I'm one lucky lady!!!

New to the blog world

I'm not to sure how good I will be at this blogging thing but I have decided to give it a go. Hopefully, family out of town will enjoy keeping up with our latest news, as I will try to post regular updates. I still have to learn how to attach pictures and add links and what not, but some blogging is better than no blogging...

The latest news....

*Brianna is walking! Unbelievable! It's insane how fast time goes by. She still crawling, mainly, but walks a pretty good amount too. She'll take a couple steps, clap a few times, and proceed to walking again. It's so darn cute! Philipe and I are so proud!

*We've switched to cloth diapers, something I never imagined doing. It took a little pursuaing Philipe, but he's on board now. At first, he thought he was going to have to use pins. Then, he saw how cute and easy they are and finally caved in. Plus, I'm the one doing the laundry so what should he care. Why did we decide to go with cloth??? The main reason is I thought it might be healthier for Brianna. After fighting off 3 UTI's, and reading Dr. Punger's ,Permission to Mother, I learned there are many chemicals in disposable diapers that I feel might be contributing to the problem. No doctor has confirmed this. Just my theory! And, of coarse, using cloth diapers is much cheaper and better for the environment. The diapers are really cute too, so that's a plus! While we're only a week into it, there have been no blowouts to report! Yay!

*Still breast feeding and have no intentions of weaning anytime soon. Don't like it? Don't care!

*Philipe got his wisdom teeth pulled. 3 days later he found out he has 2 dry sockets. Poor feller! The doc packed them with gauze dipped in clove....hmmm??? Seems to work!

We have finally recovered from Memorial Day weekend. Saturday started bright and early with a birthday party at the fountains in Jensen Beach. It was followed by celebrating my Dad's birthday and ended with another party. Philipe's parents host an annual "Tacki Tiki" party that is always loads of fun. There's always different themes and this years theme was "a hoe-down at the tacki tiki". It fit us perfectly! Brianna looked so darn cute. As soon as I figure out how to post pictures I'll put one up. I was only planning on staying till 10:00 p.m at the latest, as my bedtime is usually around 9:30. Well, we ended up having such a good time and Brianna was sleeping so nicely in her pack-n-play that we didn't end up leaving until 1 am!!! After Philipe had a few drinks it was impossible to get him to leave! We definately paid for it the next day. Sunday consisted of laying around the house, anticipating Brianna's next nap so we could all snooze together. Thankfully, Brianna took really long naps that day.

On Monday (Memorial Day), we went to Philipe's parents house for a nice lil' B-B-Q. We got to show off Brianna's new diapers. Everyone was pretty surprised by how far cloth diapers have come. It's always nice when family shows interest and support. We hung out by the pool for most of the day. Brianna loves the pool! She doesn't mind going under water and towards the end of the day she showed off how she can kick her feet. Another proud moment for me and Philipe!

And for today...one of my favorite days of the week....Tuesday is Mommy Day! Mommy day was held at Jen and Luke's house. We hung out outside for most of the day. It was a beautiful day too! Brianna got to play with all her little pals and I got to play with mine! That's it for now. I'm off to bed! Good blogging!
